Concert Band
We are a 9-12 grade ensemble open to all high school students interested in learning a concert band instrument. We prepare for 3 concerts a year, play for marching and pep band, as well as prepare large and small group ensembles for the annual WSMA Solo and Ensemble Festival.

All concerts begin at 7:00pm in the Southern Door Community Auditorium unless otherwise indicated

Jazz Band
Jazz Band is an extra-curricular activity which typically starts in mid-November and continues through the end of the school year. In jazz band we learn about the "other styles" of music. From funk to rock to street jazz to good ol' big band swing, we do a little bit of everything.
Jazz students are typically members of the high school concert band, but not exclusively so. If there is a student who is not in concert band but wants to be in the jazz band, they should reach out to Files to have a discussion.
The Jazz Band mostly performs on the same nights as the Concert Band, however there are a few additional performance opportunities including the Senior Citizens Holiday Party, and the Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
Pep Band
The purpose of the Pep Band is to help provide energy and enthusiasm (i.e. "pep") at various sporting events in the district. The pep band is made up of high school band students, but we also love when alumni, staff, and parents come to play with us!
Every year we host an Alumni, Friends, and Family Night. This night is open to anyone with a connection to the band. We want to see our alumni, and we want to see the adults in our lives reconnect with their love of music! Stay tuned for the 2023 Alumni, Friends, and Family date - usually on a Friday night in early January!
Marching Band
Marching band is required for all high school band students during first semester. We are a non-competitive marching band, performing for all home football games that occur during the school year.
There is an optional marching camp for all high school students in late August where we start learning music and the fundamentals of marching. Other than that camp, all music and drill is learned during band rehearsals during the school day.
